After 31 years at Venture, Marsha is retiring. She would like everyone know that it was a true privilege to work with Venture students, parents and staff for so many years. She treasured and respected the uniqueness of each individual and felt that the students always taught her about living life well.

All Venture high school students have been invited to register with Naviance/Family Connection and complete “Do What You Are” which helps students understand themselves and choose careers based on their answers. If your student hasn’t yet done this, please ask them to see the counselors for assistance. The students have been very happy with their results from “Do What You Are”.

Summer Prep for Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2 and Precalculus/Trigonometry is a course designed for students who have successfully (C or better) completed Algebra 2 and Geometry and are planning to take Precalculus /Trigonometry in the Fall. My Future, My Way: First Steps Toward College, A Workbook for Middle School Students is available to our middle school students. Please pick these up from the shelves near the counselors' office.
A new website has been launched by the US Department of Education. www.college.gov was designed by students for students. It provides relevant, comprehensive information about why to go, how to go, and how to pay for college or other postsecondary education programs. It's a helpful website.

Are you interested in the trades? Many of the union halls are accepting applications now. For a listing of the union halls, see Lucy, the counselor or check out the apprenticeship board at Venture. You need to be 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
